bliar / mccarthy - same bloke

earlier today i compared britain now to the u.s. during the mccarthy era. here's bernard wiener saying the u.s. is just the same : 'good night, and good luck' — joe mccarthy rides again.

mccarthy was encouraged by republicans in the 1950s to rampage around looking for supposed communists -- and bullying everyone in his path -- because it would reap the party political advantage in the post-world war ii cold war hysteria. republicans today encourage, or at least acquiesce to, the bush administration's incompetent rampaging in search of "terrorist" suspects, shredding badly the protections of the constitution, because it serves their electoral advantage in a society frightened by the prospect of future terrorist attacks.

how does it sound if you replace 'bush' with 'bliar'?

mccarthy was encouraged by republicans in the 1950s to rampage around looking for supposed communists -- and bullying everyone in his path -- because it would reap the party political advantage in the post-world war ii cold war hysteria. "new" labour politicians today encourage, or at least acquiesce to, the bliar administration's incompetent rampaging in search of "terrorist" suspects, shredding badly the protections of the constitution, because it serves their electoral advantage in a society frightened by the prospect of future terrorist attacks.

labour survives i.d. card rebellion.

there is a phrase for the m.p.s who didn't vote against this bill : fucking spineless little bastards.

this is the most illiberal legislation in decades.

it'll mean that we cannot get passports without having a fucking i.d. card - and i thought big-ears said the i.d. card scheme wasn't compulsory - where's the lack of compulsion, you ugly twat, when we can't leave this country without a fucking card?

since the scheme won't stop terrorists, what's it for?

for bliar & co to play big brother with us all, that's what.

the fact that the i.d. card database won't be linked to police, mi5, mi6 computer systems now doesn't mean it can't be in the future. does this mean i won't be able to get a passport because of unbritish activities like calling the prime minister a fucking liar?

joe mccarthy, eat your heart out.

why are our elected representatives allowing bliar, big-ears & co to push this through parliament when all the research says the british people don't want it, it will not stop a single terrorist doing what he / she wants to do and it'll give government enormously expanded powers over us all?

oh, yeah, it's 'cos they're fucking spineless little bastards.

silly me.

harold pinter : we have brought torture and misery in the name of freedom.

well, i'm back.

i went into a bit of a decline when the british people apparently re-elected bliar and his cronies - i say 'apparently', because the actions of a bunch of 'new' labour supporters in birmingham, who had hundreds of ballot papers with which they intended to stuff the ballot boxes - makes me wonder whether bliar now steals elections as well as our money for the benefit of his pals in big business.

being back, i intend to do what i was doing before - keeping track of our politicos' lies and being offensive about them when they do lie, or cheat, or steal my human rights with their fucking fascist i.d. cards and all their other nazi shit.
