why has it taken until now for sportswear companies to say they'll investigate oxfam's allegations that their goods are made in sweatshops?

oxfam and other charities have been saying this for years (i can remember first becoming aware of it in the 1980s), so why have they waited until now?

couldn't be that they fear that their plans for cashing-in on the olympics may be in jeopardy if the public think they're run by a bunch of heartless shits, so they'll make a fuss now, sack a few producers to make themselves look like they're people who give a fuck and, thus, divert the public's attention from the fact that they've knowingly used these cruel, money-grasping, exploitative cunts to produce their clothing for years and years, could it?
