i've commented here before about my lack of trust in religionists, believing that most of them are no more than ten minutes from burning the next witch.

the well-documented rise of fascism in the u.s., backed by so many 'christians' in that country is summarised in gary leupp's fighting for the work of the lord : christian fascism in america.

these bastards have to be fought all the way, by whatever means come to hand, for they will stop at nothing to subjugate the rest of the world, forgetting the message of peace that their 'saviour' handed down in the bible.

quote from leupp's article:

niemoeller is said to have stated, "first they came for the communists, but I was not a communist so I did not speak out. then they came for the socialists and the trade unionists, but I was neither, so I did not speak out. then they came for the jews, but I was not a jew so I did not speak out. and when they came for me, there was no one left to speak out for me."

remember those words next time you think it's ok for your government to ill-treat any tiny part of the population - you are next on the bastards' list.

here's a lovely counter-point to leupp's article; it's about christians in iceland who believe none of the shit that 'christians' in the u.s. believe : jose m. tirado's the christians i know.
