in his article 'torturing children', william rivers pitt asks 'torturing children in the name of freedom? is this what we have become?'.

the answer is that the u.s.a. has not been far off this for decades. it has treated children like scum for years, taking welfare benefits away from them because their parents cannot find work, allowing them to be bullied at school (where's the difference between bullying and torture?), allowing them to be imprisoned for inhumanly long periods and even to be killed by their judicial system.

so, yes, william, that is what you've come to, but it's been in the wind for a long, long time and you have done nothing to stop it.

elect a different president if you want to stop it - and make it clear to the next one that it will not be tolerated for any reason under the sun.
