lance broughton, politicians as superior human beings.

here it is again, with a few names changed. sound familiar, you uk readers (if i have any)?

"I chatter, chatter as I flow, to join the brimming river. For men may come and men may go, but I go on forever." -- Lord Tennyson.

The United Kingdom is in the poo. The credibility of our politicians has dropped below used car and insurance salesmen. All three try and sell you something overpriced and inappropriate for your needs. Then they have the cheek to describe themselves as knowledgeable.

UK is run by the Labour Party. The only real opposition is the Tory Party led by its new leader, Michael Howard. He's a former Home Secretary, he’s a firm believer that the world revolves around money and his actions have shown his total disregard for people. All he can see are pound signs. It’s business, business and more business. People are a cost to business and costs must be reduced in the name of profit. He’s a typical politician and I wouldn’t trust him as far as I could throw him.

Tony Bliar is the Prime Minister and is running second to Howard in the polls. He’s an ex-political activist from his university days and has developed political spin into an art form. How he seriously believes the people will continue to back him is beyond belief.

The main trouble with our politicians is that they seriously believe that they are superior human beings with the god-given right to interfere in our private lives. If you bother complaining about something, all you get is a load of political waffle that means absolutely nothing. You’re treated with contempt and made to feel you’re a complete nincompoop for challenging their authoritative agenda. How dare you complain? We know what’s best, so mind your own business and give us your money or we’ll hound you into bankruptcy. One way or another, UK is one of the highest taxed nations on earth. Yet government services aren’t worth 10% of anybody’s income or expenditure.

The government forget that the money raised from taxation belongs to the people. It’s not money created by government. They did nothing to earn a single cent. It’s money stolen by overcharging for largely unwanted services. Yet health care is pathetic, education is a laugh and corruption is emerging in high places. The lies politicians tell are so blatant. It makes one want to spew. Talented Brits are moving offshore in droves. Certain politicians have decided they don’t like immigrants, thus causing the economy to slow. There’s virtually no manufacturing to employ the common herd and the only jobs available for the young are McJobs. Statistics are manipulated to make employment look better. Males more than forty are virtually unemployable and you have to be as thick as two short planks to work for government or local council.

The ability to think and exercise commonsense used to be considered an asset. But not today. The politicians require total compliance of an unthinking population. Stick your head up and there’s thousands of rules and regulations to behead you. The tall poppy syndrome is alive and well in Britain. With the system bulldozing personal initiative into the dust, future generations will be little more than mindless zombies. But I guess that’s exactly what the politicians want. How they justify their behavior is unfathomable.
